Bronze, Silver, and Gold Level Tap Classes | Riccall, Fulford
Our Bronze, Silver, and Gold Level Tap classes are designed for children aged 4 to 9 years who are ready to explore the rhythm and creativity of tap dancing. These progressive classes follow the ISTD and I-Path syllabuses, offering an engaging way for young dancers to develop technique while having fun. Students can work towards medals and optional exams, celebrating their progress as they advance through each level.
What Happens in a Bronze, Silver, or Gold Level Tap Class?
Each class is carefully planned to balance technical training with creative expression. During the sessions, dancers will:
Tap is as much about expression as it is about technique. Classes incorporate improvisation and creative exercises that allow students to explore their individuality while learning to stay in sync with the beat.
Encouraging Creativity
These sessions focus on building essential tap skills, including basic steps, shuffles, and rhythm patterns. Students learn how to create clear and dynamic sounds with their feet, developing precision and coordination.
Mastering The Basics
For those who wish to, optional ISTD and I-Path medal exams provide rewarding milestones. These exams help young dancers set goals and feel a sense of accomplishment as they progress.

Bronze, Silver, and Gold Level Tap classes are open to children aged 4 to 9 years. Classes are held at Riccall Institute and Fulford Social Hall, making it easy to find a session that fits your schedule.
We recommend students wear tap shoes and comfortable dance attire. Hair should be neatly tied back to ensure freedom of movement.
